The problem
Can an electrical plan that arrives as a PDF go straight into the HA plan, clean and readable?
Electrical plans often arrived as PDFs, and they did not go through properly: consultants could not pick the page or the section of the plan they needed.
The system
- Pick the page from an uploaded PDF, crop the section you need from any corner, preview it, and reopen saved thumbnails.
- Convert the result to black and white so it sits cleanly under the devices in the HA plan.
Engineering decisions
- Work from the PDF directly
- Users pick the page they need from an uploaded PDF instead of converting it in outside software first.
- Black and white by default
- The plan stays readable under coloured device icons, and every processed plan looks the same.
Impact
PDF plans go straight into the HA plan, cropped to what matters and easy to read.
